Welcome to "The Lab". It's perhaps the largest collection of audio knowledge, design info and dweebs. This is, for the most part, a very respectful community with a colorful cast of characters. From industry veterans, to the most recent graduate of stompbox school. If you seek an answer, chances are, it's been discussed here already.  There's a tab in the blue navigation bar that new members may find beneficial. If you have a question, try a "Search" first. This place is a wealth of knowledge, all you have to do is look around. If, after reading the thousands of threads here, you still have no luck... ask and someone will be with you shortly. Also, check the Meta-Meta. This is a collection of links to the most commonly discussed topics within the site. Just wanted to add that I don't like the original board's search function, sometimes it's difficult to find stuff, however, I want to applaud the recently added Google Custom Search feature, which makes searching a breeze:  |

I'll court controversy in saying that I find the new google search utterly useless in comparison to the old search method. I have found myself resorting to tracing a path through the META pages, via related topics, to find links to the pages I need. Topic search is of no use at all unless you have already found the topic you want to search.  |

Well some projects have a million replies. If I am gonna build that project then I read them all. (while waiting for parts)
And I always hit the Meta. Or do a search for the name of your diy and it will come up.
It's diy not instant LOL. Most understand that. You learn stuff.......

I also would like to add that although I love this forum,
the search function was always pretty weak.
But after the "google custom search" it became worse, it's quite uselless now.

Hello, My name is Alex and I live in the Republic of Ireland. I am a complete novice, have never used an iron but am fairly practical minded and confident enough to have a go! I have my own recording studio which I run on a commercial basis, but simply cannot afford the prices involved in buying ready made kit so ... here I am. I would like to thank anyone in advance for any advice I recieve and I am delighted to have found this forum. The tasks ahead don't seem half as daunting now!
I stumbled across this place while looking at Seventh Circle Audio and, seeing as it was the first kit site I discovered and have already corresponded via e-mail, I think I'M gonna take a punt and buy their beginners kit. Before I do, does anyone have any advice on their kits?
Anyway, pleased to meet you all and I look forward to pestering you with stupid dumb newbie questions at 4am!!
